Plant Closing Liquidation Auctions

Closing, Consolidating or Relocating?

We Liquidate Entire Plants

Heath Industrial liquidates manufacturing plants and industrial facilities through on-site, online and webcast auctions. We handle the full closing sale: a free walkthrough, appraisal if you need one, cataloging and photography, national marketing to buyers, the auction itself, buyer payments, scheduled equipment removal, and an itemized settlement of your proceeds.

Based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, we have been selling industrial equipment since 1985. We work nationwide, with a focus on Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Michigan and Ohio, for owners, corporate asset managers, banks and lenders, bankruptcy trustees and estates.

Common Situations

When Companies Call Us

Every closing is different. These are the situations we see most often.

👤

Owner Retirement

No successor or buyer for the business. We convert the equipment to cash so the owner can close the company on their own terms.

🚚

Consolidation or Relocation

Production is moving to another plant. We sell the equipment that isn't making the move and clear the building on your schedule.

🔑

Lease End or Building Sale

The building has to be empty by a fixed date. We plan the sale and removal dates backward from that deadline.

🏦

Lender-Directed Sales

Banks and lenders liquidating collateral get documented, transparent sales with the reporting their files require. Lender sales →

⚖

Bankruptcy & Court-Ordered

Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 sales and assignment sales, conducted with the documentation trustees, assignees and courts require. Court sales →

✂

Partial Shutdowns

Closing a department, line or second shift? We sell only the surplus equipment while the rest of the plant keeps running.

Start to Finish

How a Plant Closing Sale Works

One team manages the whole closing, from the first walkthrough to the final settlement.

1

Free Walkthrough

We tour the plant, review the equipment and your deadline, and give you an honest picture of what a sale can achieve. No charge and no obligation.

2

Appraisal (Optional)

Need numbers before you decide? Our appraisers prepare USPAP-compliant FLV, OLV and FMV appraisals for owners, lenders and attorneys.

3

Plan & Schedule

We agree on the sale format, auction date and removal window, working backward from your lease, sale or shutdown date.

4

Catalog & Market

Every lot is photographed and described where it sits. We then market the sale to our bidder database, industry contacts and buyers nationwide.

5

Auction

On-site, online-only or webcast. We handle registration, bidding, clerking and buyer questions.

6

Removal & Settlement

We collect buyer payments and schedule removal. You receive an itemized settlement report and your net proceeds, typically within 30 business days of the auction.

Plant Closing FAQ

We walk through the facility with you, recommend a sale format and schedule, then catalog and photograph the equipment where it sits. It depends on the size of the facility and your deadline, such as a lease end or building sale. We build the schedule around your date at the first walkthrough, and we can work to a timeline of a few weeks or a few months. Net proceeds and an itemized settlement report typically follow within 30 business days of the auction.
