Collateral Liquidation for Lenders

Turning Collateral Into Recovery

Heath Industrial liquidates machinery and equipment collateral for banks, lenders and equipment finance companies through on-site, online and webcast auctions. We handle collateral review and USPAP-compliant appraisal, the sale plan, cataloging and national marketing, the auction itself, buyer payments and removal, and an itemized lot-by-lot settlement report for your file.

Based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, we have been selling industrial equipment since 1985. We work nationwide, with a focus on Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Michigan and Ohio, for commercial banks, asset-based and SBA lenders, equipment finance and leasing companies, and the attorneys who represent them.

Common Situations

When Lenders Call Us

From a single repossessed machine to a full plant of collateral.

🏦

Collateral Liquidation

A loan has defaulted and the equipment securing it needs to be sold. We plan a documented, publicly marketed sale built around your recovery goals.

🤝

Loan Workouts

The borrower and lender agree to sell assets to pay down the loan. A cooperative sale keeps the borrower involved and usually brings stronger results.

🚚

Repossessed Equipment

Machines already recovered, or still at the borrower's site. We sell them where they sit or include them in one of our scheduled auctions.

🏠

REO & Facility Contents

The lender owns the building and needs it emptied. We sell the machinery and contents and clear the facility for sale or lease.

📈

SBA & Equipment Finance

SBA lenders, equipment finance and leasing companies disposing of collateral or off-lease equipment.

📋

Valuation Before Action

Need FLV and OLV numbers to decide between a workout and a liquidation? We appraise first, then sell only if you decide to.

Start to Finish

How a Lender Sale Works

One team manages the sale from the first collateral review to the final report.

1

Collateral Review

We inspect the equipment, check it against your collateral schedule, and give you a realistic picture of what a sale can recover.

2

Appraisal (Optional)

USPAP-compliant FLV, OLV and FMV appraisals for your credit file, workout decisions or court filings.

3

Sale Plan

We recommend a format and schedule that fit your timeline and any notice periods, coordinated with your counsel and, where appropriate, the borrower.

4

Catalog & Market

Every lot is photographed and described. We advertise the sale publicly to our bidder database, industry contacts and buyers nationwide.

5

Auction

On-site, online-only or webcast. We handle registration, bidding, clerking, buyer payments and removal.

6

Report & Settlement

You receive an itemized lot-by-lot settlement report and the net proceeds, typically within 30 business days of the auction.

Questions Lenders Ask

Lender Sale FAQ

It is a sale of machinery and equipment that secures a loan, run at the direction of the bank or lender. Heath Industrial reviews the collateral, recommends a sale format and schedule, catalogs and markets the equipment to buyers nationally, conducts the auction, collects buyer payments, and delivers an itemized lot-by-lot settlement report with the net proceeds.
Either. Many sales are cooperative: the borrower stays involved and the lender approves the plan, which usually makes access to the facility and the sale itself smoother. When the relationship has broken down, we take direction from the lender and its counsel.
Yes. Our appraisers prepare USPAP-compliant forced liquidation (FLV), orderly liquidation (OLV) and fair market value (FMV) appraisals for secured lending, loan reviews, workouts and SBA loans. Because the same firm appraises and sells equipment, our values are grounded in what equipment actually brings at auction. See our appraisals page.
An itemized settlement report showing each lot, the selling price, buyer's premium and expenses, along with the net proceeds. Net proceeds and the settlement report typically follow within 30 business days of the auction.
We build the schedule around the lender's timeline, the condition of the collateral and any legal notice periods. When a facility has to clear quickly, we can organize and run an auction on a short timeline; when there is more time, an orderly sale with a longer marketing period usually brings more.
Yes. We sell equipment where it sits, at the borrower's facility, or at another location the lender chooses. Single machines can also be included in one of our regularly scheduled multi-seller auctions.
On-site, online-only and webcast auctions, absolute auctions, sealed bid sales and private treaty (negotiated) sales. We recommend a format after reviewing the collateral and the lender's goals.
